Darrelle Revis will once again have a tough matchup to start the 2016 season.
After he had difficulty covering Cincinnati’s A.J. Green in Week 1, the Jets corner will line up opposite Sammy Watkins on Thursday night despite Watkins’ injured foot.
Luckily for Revis, Watkins is banged up entering the primetime bout. Watkins didn’t practice until Wednesday, but was limited.
The Jets are relatively healthy entering Buffalo, as only three players are out due to injury. Here is the complete list of Jets’ inactives:
QB Christian Hackenberg (coaches’ decision)
QB Bryce Petty (shoulder)
RB Troymaine Pope (coaches’ decision)
CB Darryl Roberts (foot)
LB Jordan Jenkins (calf)
OG Dakota Dozier (coaches’ decision)
OT Brandon Shell (coaches’ decision)
And the Bills’ inactives:
K Jordan Gay (coaches’ decision)
QB Cardale Jones (right shoulder)
RB Jonathan Williams (coaches’ decision)
DB Colt Anderson (foot)
LB Brandon Spikes (coaches’ decision)
OL Patrick Lewis (coaches’ decision)
OT Cordy Glenn (ankle)
The key inactive for the Jets is Jenkins, the rookie linebacker who has yet to see the field due to a calf injury. Mike Catapano earned the nod in Week 1, but both Darron Lee and Lawrence Thomas saw more playing time. It will likely be a mix again on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, defensive end Wilkerson will suit up on Thursday to no surprise. ‘Big Mo’ was listed as questionable with a foot/toe injury, but is hungry for revenge against the Bills. In a pre-game Instagram post, Wilkerson reminded everyone that New Era Stadium, formerly known as Ralph Wilson Stadium, was where he suffered his broken leg.
