Jets quarterback watch: 2017 free agency edition

Yet again, the New York Jets are in the market for a quarterback. With several team’s in the NFL in the midst of a quarterback carosel, we took the time to break down the latest news for all of the free agent quarterbacks, as well as those currently involved in trade rumors.

Mike Glennon Tampa Bay Buccaneers Chicago Bears Glennon signed a three-year, $45 million contract with the Bears on March 9.
Brian Hoyer Chicago Bears San Francisco 49ers The 49ers signed Hoyer to a two-year, $15 million contract on March 9.
Trevor Siemian Denver Broncos Denver Broncos* Siemian is still under contract with the Broncos, but there were rumors that the Jets had reached out to Denver about a potential trade; there was a “backpedal” on the rumor.
Kirk Cousins Washington Redskins Washington Redskins* Cousins signed a franchise tag with Washington worth $23.94 million.
Brock Osweiler Houston Texans Cleveland Browns The Texans sent Osweiler to Cleveland in a cap-saving move. The Browns received a 2018 second-round pick and a 2017 sixth-round pick.
The Texans could trade Osweiler or cut if there are no suiters.
Nick Foles Kansas City Chiefs Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles signed Foles to a two-year deal on March 13.
Jay Cutler Chicago Bears ???

The Bears officially cut Cutler on March 9.

The Jets have been in touch with Cuter, a report on March 13 said.

Chase Daniel Philadelphia Eagles ??? After Philadelphia signed Foles, Daniel asked for his release.
Tony Romo Dallas Cowboys ??? The Cowboys are not expected to find a trade partner for Romo and could cut the veteran.
Geno Smith New York Jets New York Giants Smith signs with the New York Giants.
Robert Griffin III Cleveland Browns ??? The Browns have released RG3. 
Colin Kaepernick San Francisco 49ers ??? Kaepernick is an unrestricted free agent.
Ryan Fitzpatrick New York Jets ??? There are no updates on Fitz-Magic… yet.
Josh McCown Cleveland Browns ??? Josh McCown met with the Jets, but left without a deal.
