The New York Jets might have signed Demario Davis’ replacement. The Jets have reportedly agreed to a deal with former Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The #Jets are expected to sign #Titans FA LB Avery Williamson, source said. A perfect fit for a 3-4 ILB.

Williamson, 26, is a 3-4 inside linebacker who recorded 92 tackles and three sacks for Tennessee last season. He could slot in as the Mike linebacker in New York’s defense and his arrival likely spells the end for Demario Davis after his one-year return stint with the franchise that originally drafted him.
Davis is three years older than Williamson and is likely commanding more money after posting one of his best seasons of his career. Davis will likely get that payday somewhere, but it probably won’t be from the Jets.
Williamson joins Josh McCown (re-signed), Trumaine Johnson, Isaiah Crowell and Teddy Bridgewater as New York’s reported signees as free agency gets underway.
